Service Description
Very focussed learning from a ceramic artist with over 25 years experience, you will learn how to make a sculptural form using the handbuilding technique of coiling in stoneware clay. On Saturday we will start with a demonstration on how to create the base and then how to coil onto the base with flattened ropes of clay building up the form. Sunday you will complete the form and use coloured slips, stamps, sgraffito to decorate your piece. Once dry (this takes up to one week) your work will be fired, glazed in a clear glaze, fired again and then be ready for you to collect from the studio in 2-3 weeks. Held on a Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 4pm with only a maximum of 2 students per class.
